James Martin Manchester - Food For Thought

James Martin Manchester is proud to offset its carbon by being part of Food for Thought.

Initially in April 2012, The Leeds Kitchen by James Martin chose to demonstrate its corporate social responsibility by joining the UN Environment backed Food For Thought initiative.

Now the celebrity chef continues his participation at James Martin Manchester, enabling hundreds of trees to be planted in the restaurant's name every month.

Diners are given the opportunity to add 99p to their bill, a voluntary contribution which pays for the planting of a single tree and effectively offsets the CO2 footprint of the meal.

By participating in Food For Thought, James Martin Manchester provides all of their diners with the opportunity to plant a life-changing fruit tree in some of the poorest communities, which provides them with food, shelter, a source of income and education.
